NW Agentic is a small Pacific-Northwest engineering company building the agentic workflow platform we wish existed when we tried to deploy AI in serious operational settings.
What we do
We design, deploy, and operate agentic AI workflows for growing small and mid-size businesses. Three deployment modes — Core (cloud-managed productized agents), Forge (custom workflows placed in cloud and/or on Edge nodes), and Edge (on-prem appliance for workflows where data must stay at the firm).
The platform's safety net — per-firm budget caps, audit log per step, configurable human-review gates, mTLS node identity — ships on by default. Silent overspend and unlogged steps are not configurable states.
What we believe
Workflows are entities, not deployments. Every workflow has a stable identity, versioned releases, and an explicit assignment to a node. You don't redeploy code to ship a workflow; you assign and enable it.
The privacy boundary is at the firm. When customer data carries a contractual or statutory boundary, it shouldn't leave the firm — even if a SaaS perimeter would technically allow it. RAG retrieval runs locally on Private Edge; only the chunks relevant to a query are passed to a cloud LLM.
Self-healing is non-optional. At scale, manual intervention per node is a business failure. The platform's watchdog supervisor escalates through five recovery stages before paging a human; the goal is to eliminate 90 percent of potential onsite visits.
AI cost is a controlled variable, not an open liability. A per-firm monthly budget, a per-job ceiling, and an anomaly detector at 2× baseline — wired in front of every LLM call so workflows degrade gracefully rather than overspending.
Founder
Joel is the principal engineer and founder of NW Agentic. He has been shipping production software for growing businesses for years, with a focus on the operational systems that actually keep things running. He started NW Agentic after watching one too many AI rollouts collapse on the non-AI parts — auth, audit, cost governance, recovery — and deciding the platform needed to come first.
We also do consulting
NW Agentic offers paid engineering engagements for migrations, bespoke integrations, and platform-adjacent work that doesn't fit a productized box. If your operation has a one-off engineering problem you want senior hands on, talk with us.
This is the only place on the site where consulting lives. The platform is the product; consulting is occasional.
